Victoria Bacon, PhD, is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist with specialized training in Pediatric Health Psychology. Dr. Bacon utilizes evidence-based treatment approaches for children aged 0-13 years with emotional, behavioral, and/or co-occurring medical concerns. Additionally, she has training and experience working with perinatal patients, NICU admissions, and parents of medically complex children. She primarily draws from treatment modalities such as Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Behavioral Parent Training (BPT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT).

Dr. Bacon completed her undergraduate training in Psychology at the University of Central Florida where she worked in the UCF Anxiety Disorders Clinic providing treatment for children and adolescents with presenting concerns such as social anxiety, selective mutism, and obsessive-compulsive disorder. She earned her master’s degree in Clinical Psychological Science at the University of Maryland, College Park where she studied the overlap between anxiety and behavioral disorders. She completed her doctoral training at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas with a specialization in anxiety, selective mutism, and school refusal.

Following graduate training, Dr. Bacon completed training in medical and health psychology through her internship at Texas Children’s Hospital and fellowship at American Family Children’s Hospital. During this time, she provided clinical services to children admitted to inpatient medical units across a range of specialties such as Neonatology, Hematology/Oncology, GI/Nutrition, Pulmonology, Cardiology, Physical Medicine/Rehabilitation, Neurology, and Endocrinology. She also completed rotations specializing in preschool populations and solid organ transplant.

Before joining CBT Denver, Dr. Bacon was an Assistant Professor at the University of Colorado, Anschutz in the Connections Program for High-Risk Infants and Families. In this role, she worked with perinatal parents and young children with medical complexities, supported families during NICU stays, and served as the consulting psychologist for the Pulmonary Hypoplasia Clinic at Children’s Hospital Colorado.

Dr. Bacon is passionate about helping children and families feel more confident, connected, and equipped to manage life’s challenges. She believes that therapy is most effective when families feel supported and when treatment is tailored to each child’s individual strengths, needs, and circumstances.
