Kristine Froehlich, LCSW, MSW is an Associate Therapist at Cognitive Behavior Therapy Associates of Denver. Kristine has 10 years of clinical experience in the field and is passionate about delivering evidence-based interventions to help her clients achieve their unique goals. She offers individualized, compassionate care to her clients and works with adolescents, parents and adults. Kristine specializes in helping clients navigate challenges with trauma, anxiety, depression, insomnia, health anxiety, chronic pain, trichotillomania or skin picking, grief, attachment issues, life transitions, neurodivergence, eating disorders and chronic stress.
Kristine has expertise incorporating a variety of evidence-based interventions, including Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), CBT-I (Cognitive Behavior Therapy for Insomnia), Habit Reversal Training (HRT), and Motivational Interviewing (MI). Kristine is also trained in Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy and uses this approach to treat Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) with clients. Kristine also provides Virtual Reality Therapy (VR) for fear of flying and other conditions that support VR-based exposure work.
Kristine focuses on using a relational approach with clients to help them feel secure while taking meaningful steps to change their lives. She balances being warm and affirming while asking questions and providing feedback to help clients move beyond the points in life where they are feeling stuck. She uses a compassion and values-based exposure therapy approach when working with client with anxiety disorders, phobias, OCD, and trauma to help them move towards their goals.
Kristine received her Undergraduate Degree in Psychology from Loyola University of Chicago and completed her Masters Degree in Clinical Social Work from The University of Chicago. Kristine completed her post-graduate supervisory hours working as a full-time therapist at Rogers Behavioral Hospital at an Adolescent Residential DBT Program, doing individual, group and family psychotherapy.
Kristine loves horseback riding, traveling, walking her mini Aussie-Doodle "Steve," exploring the mountains and going to see live music.
